air – He pumped air into the bicycle tyre.

fair – It’s not fair! She has no talent, just fair long hair.

hair – I brush my hair every night.

lair – Look at the wolf crouching in its lair.

pair – He needs a new pair of shoes.

airy – The house has a light, airy kitchen.

chair – He sat in his chair by the table.

flair – She had a flair for languages. She dressed with flair too.

affair – Our wedding day was an affair to remember. Having an affair will ruin our marriage.

hairy – He’s got hairy arms and a hairy chest.

repair – He has to repair his house after the storm.

airport – She arrived at the airport just in time to catch the plane.

airline – We are flying with a cheap airline.

airplane – It’s time to board the airplane to head home.

airhead – I felt like an airhead when I couldn’t remember my new neighbour’s name.

airwaves – The airwaves were filled with news flashes about the crisis.

prairie – A prairie is a plain of grassy land without many trees.

despair – Her voice is full of self-hatred and despair.

Corsair: The corsair ship sailed the seas in search of treasure.

Cochair: The two leaders served as cochairs of the conference.

Pairing: The pairing of wine and cheese was delicious.

Solitaire: She enjoyed playing Solitaire on her phone.

Chairman: The chairman of the board presided over the meeting.

Billionaire: The billionaire donated millions to charity.
