List of ARE words with examples

Bare: The tree was bare in winter.

Care: I care about my friends.

Dare: I dare you to climb the tree.

Fare: The bus fare was expensive.

Hare: The hare and rabbit look similar but are very different.

Mare: The mare and her foal grazed in the meadow.

Pare: She will pare off the apple with a knife.

Rare: Steak is often cooked rare.

Ware: Pottery is a type of ware.

Flare: The flare of the match lit up his face.

Glare: Sunglasses protect your eyes from the glare.

Scare: The loud noise will scare the cat.

Share: I like to share my toys with my friends.

Snare: The hunter set a snare for the rabbit.

Spare: Do you have any spare change?

Square: The room has four square corners.

Stare: She likes to stare at paintings in amazement.

Aware: I was aware of the danger.

Beware: Beware of the dog!

Careful: Be careful when crossing the street.

Caretaker: The caretaker looked after the park.

Nightmare: I had a scary nightmare last night.

Software: Computer programmes are called software.

Hardware: The computer’s hardware includes the keyboard and mouse.

Warehouse: The company stores its products in a large warehouse.

Daredevil: The daredevil jumped off the cliff.
