OAT is a rime in the English language. There are many words that begin with an onset made up of one consonant as in ‘goat’ or blends up to 3 consonants, and then end with the rime OAT as in ‘float’ and ‘throat’.

Float – She watched the balloons float up to the sky.
Afloat – When the ship sank, the life savers kept the people afloat until help arrived.
Loath – I was loath to apologise for something that I did not do.
Loathe – I am not eating that sushi, you know how much I loathe raw fish.
Throat – You can gargle with warm salted water to ease your sore throat.
Oatmeal – Mom served a bowl of hot oatmeal with raisins for breakfast.
Rowboat – We need oars for the rowboat when we go rowing.
Sailboat – The fisherman put up the sail on his sailboat to go sailing.
Lifeboat – The sailors on the ship threw a lifeboat to rescue the fisherman.
Raincoat – My son has an umbrella and a raincoat for bad weather.
Waistcoat – The groom wore his waistcoat without a jacket at the reception.
Speedboat – Mike came first in the speedboat race at sea.
